With 650 horsepower, the C7 Z06 is quite the performer. Chevrolet has included all the available airflow bits to make sure all that power goes to the roadway. But, when there are high speeds and a hill, all the wings, spoilers and whatnot will do little good against the forces of physics.

Thanks to Auto Addiction Media, this recent showing of Power Minus Traction shows a Z06 enjoying a spirited trip around the famed Nurburgring. All the speed available to the Z06 was far and away enough to break the bond between the car’s rear tires and the road with just a slight elevation change. We’ve seen it before.

Let’s face it, the Green Hell isn’t the most forgiving of tracks, and this was an open drive day, not a race filled with seasoned drivers. But, the Germans must have a much more relaxed view of crashes and safety, as immediately after the incident, the newly-airbag-kissed duo exit the vehicle and immediately head to their mobile devices to update their crash status.

Let’s think about this for a minute. We’re sure you’re a better than average driver, and you just wiped out one of the more forgiving performance autos made today. What are the chances that someone else might try to do the same thing while you’re camping at the crash site? Perhaps you could get off your phone and move to the other side of the barrier? Hmmm?

It always pains us to see any car rounded at the edges, but especially when it’s a Corvette. There are so many things that could have contributed to this incident, but one thing is certain, performance of today’s cars has increased significantly, but the laws of physics haven’t.
