Camaros Caught Testing In Death Valley

Over the weekend a Camaro5 site member was able to get an up-close view of eight manufacturer-plate clad Camaros. The site member was fortunate enough to have a decent digital handy and was able to get a nice collection of images.  There were two convertibles and six coupes parked in the Death Valley, California parking lot which allowed the site member a fair amount of time to examine and photograph the cars.

Site members are speculating that the fleet of Camaros may have been out for evaluation for possible in sale in foreign markets. It would make sense for GM to begin testing the convertibles for international markets following the beginning of regular production at the Oshawa plant.

With the knowledge that GM will be offering the Camaro in India by mid-year, perhaps these guys are on to something. Autoevolution covered the announcement that GM will make the Camaro available for sale in that country despite the expectation of limited sales. It seems likely that these cars may be undergoing testing for overseas markets; in fact one site member noticed that one of the yellow Camaros pictured was wearing the same manufacturers plate as a car of the same color spotted in Germany. One noteworthy feature of the Death Valley Camaros was the appearance of the “sunglass” shaped LED taillights.
