Despite Canada’s size and proximity to America, it is not a nation known for its auto industry. “America’s Hat” relies mostly on American automakers for their vehicular consumption, and while Camaros (among other vehicles) are built on Canadian soil, they still carry US brand names. As a consequence, Canadian car tuners are few and far between, though that’s not to say they are any less enthusiastic or skilled than their US counterparts.
Quite the contrary. Davenport Motorsports, a Canadian tuner located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, has built an 800 horsepower Camaro that they are calling simply the SC800. This Canadian Camaro supercar has been bred for the track but toned down for the streets.
Sporting almost double the horsepower of a stock Camaro, Davenport’s SC800 gets its power boost from a supercharged 6.2 liter V8 engine. Backing the engine is a six-speed manual transmission, which Davenport has also seen fit to beef up.
The real potential of this Canadian Camaro is in the handling department, though. A Pfadt Engineering suspension has been fitted to each corner, and 15-inch Baer brakes provide plenty of stopping power. And of course, Davenport added its own touches, like suede-inlaid seats, billet SC800 badges, and a GM heritage grille. Who knew the Canadians had it in them to build such a badass Camaro?
