We are living in strange times where cable TV and satellite services seem to be dying. On the flip side, other providers like Hulu, Amazon, Netflix, and YouTube are all the rage. Another area of interest that is coming to the industry is pay-per-view (PPV). If you’re a fan of the UFC, boxing, or World Wrestling, then you’re used to shelling out big money for these special events and have probably been doing so for a while. Now, Cleetus McFarland is looking to get in on the PPV action at the Freedom Factory.
McFarland is looking to do a redneck version of the Daytona 500 that could be a pay-per-view event in as little as two months at the Freedom Factory. Now, before you get bent out of shape and start whining about McFarland being greedy or whatever other lame comments you might have, hear us out. According to Mc Farland, This race will consist of 20 to 30 Ford Crown Victorias, which would be piloted by your favorite YouTubers and their friends. Some of the drives would include, McFarland, Boosted Boys, Faster Proms, and others. While the rules have not been finalized, the cars would be required to race 100 laps. This event will be live-streamed,offer live tracking, and even include a professional announcer. With McFarland and his crew in charge of this race, it will be highly entertaining.
At this point, you are probably saying, “Yeah, but how much will it cost?”
According to McFarland, the event will cost $9.99 for fans that sign up early and $14.99 for people that sign up on the day of the race. When compared to UFC prices, this seems like a bargain to us. You can load up your living room with your buddies and watch an event that will cost you what you would typically spend on a movie ticket. The best part? You won’t have to pay for the outrageous concession prices and this event will be full of freedom and bald eagles.
We expect that this event will be fantastic and we hope that the crew will have in-car cameras to catch some of the action. While we don’t have a problem with PPV, our only concern is, will the Crown Vic’s be LS-swapped? If not, maybe next year.
