Chevrolet and Corvette Racing closed out the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in commanding fashion, sweeping all three GTD PRO titles during the 10-hour Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. It was a weekend that showcased not only speed but also consistency, teamwork, and engineering excellence.

Chevrolet secured the Manufacturers Championship, while Antonio Garcia and Alexander Sims claimed the Drivers Championship in their No. 3 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R. Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports completed the sweep with the Teams Championship, adding another milestone to the program’s storied history.

A runner-up class finish by the No. 4 Corvette Z06 GT3.R of Tommy Milner, Nicky Catsburg, and Nico Varrone locked in Chevrolet’s 15th GT class title in IMSA competition and its first in GTD PRO. The No. 3 Corvette of Garcia, Sims, and Daniel Juncadella followed closely with a third-place finish, marking a strong close to an exceptional season.

“The Chevrolet team is thrilled to win the GTD PRO Manufacturers Championship, our 15th IMSA GT-class title overall,” said Scott Bell, Vice President of Chevrolet. “We take great pride in this win, considering the world-class manufacturers we compete against each weekend. I want to recognize and congratulate our Corvette Racing competition and engineering teams, GM Propulsion, and Pratt Miller Motorsports.”

Across the 2024 season, Corvette Racing recorded nine podium finishes, including a victory at Virginia International Raceway for Garcia and Sims. They ended the year with six top-three results, while Milner and Catsburg secured runner-up finishes at both Petit Le Mans and Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. The No. 4 Corvette also led qualifying at Road Atlanta, earning crucial points toward the championship sweep.

Saturday’s results marked Garcia and Sims’ first Drivers’ Championship together. For Garcia, this adds to an already legendary resume, bringing his total to six IMSA titles, all earned with Corvette Racing. Sims adds his second championship with General Motors after winning the GTP Drivers title in 2023.

In the Teams Championship, Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports celebrated its 16th title, dating back to 2001. This season also marks the 13th time Chevrolet and Corvette Racing have swept the Manufacturers, Drivers, and Teams titles in the same year, a testament to two decades of dominance in GT racing.

“Congratulations to Antonio, Alexander, the No. 3 Corvette Z06 GT3.R team, and everyone at Pratt Miller Motorsports,” said Eric Warren, GM Vice President of Global Motorsports Competition.“ Their consistent performance throughout the season was a key factor in delivering these titles against the best GT competition in the world. Everyone at Chevrolet is proud of Antonio for his sixth championship with Corvette, Alexander’s first with our program, and Pratt Miller’s 16th Teams Championship in IMSA.”

Looking Ahead

Corvette’s success is not limited to IMSA. The Z06 GT3.R continues to make its mark on global racing, with teams competing in GT World Challenge America, European Le Mans Series, and FIA World Endurance Championship events. Each series presents new opportunities for Chevrolet’s latest GT platform to extend its championship-winning legacy.

For Corvette Racing, this season’s triumph reaffirms what fans have known for decades: when the checkered flag falls, the sound of victory often comes from a small-block Chevrolet.
