The plethora of unusual and otherwise licentious finds that litter Craigslist will never cease to amaze. As great as local listings can be for swooping in on unimaginable deals, it also serves as a glorified garbage bin – helping people post a variety of paraphernalia they don’t want yet still hope to get money for.
Well, we’ve happened to come across what seems to be one such anomaly. However, it sort of straddles the line between whimsical, intriguing idea and flat-out abomination. And the creator knows it – seeing as how he states in the ad that he has “come under ridicule for his creation”.
While without a doubt one of the more odd vehicle-finds we’ve found on Craigslist, there’s definitely something to be said about the creativity that had to go into the behemoth’s construction. It takes some serious imagination to envisage such a thing from the fuselage of a 1963 Mooney passenger-plane, the V6 powerplant and transmission of a ’98 Dodge Dakota, and an ’84 Corvette’s frame and suspension.
After all, the owner does have a point – it’s recycling. According to him/her, the donor plane had crashed in a field and was destined for the scrapyard. The donor Dakota and Corvette were to suffer the same fate, so why not exercise a little ingenuity and make something entirely new?
Of course, this might not be the greatest execution of that plan, but it definitely made for an interesting ad. But what do you think? Are you a fan of the aberration, or do you think the vehicles would be better off as scrap? Let us know in the comments below.
