Most people give their dad a tie for a gift, but Patrick Laughlin had a wilder idea. He built this 1957 Chevrolet 210 sedan for his father on the Fox Business series My Dream Car. Known as Sinister, this build takes the iconic Tri-Five shape and deletes the chrome for a look that is pure aggression. It’s now set to cross the block at Mecum Glendale, giving a new owner the chance to park a TV star in their garage.

Supercharged LSA Performance
The heart of this machine is a custom-built supercharged Gen IV LSA V8, which sends massive horsepower through a Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission. Laughlin didn’t just drop an engine in and walk away. He fabricated a custom core support and cooling system to keep balance and temperatures in check. The power meets the road through a robust four-link NASCAR 9-inch rear end that sits within a solid California chassis.

Stance Is The Trance
As you can see from the photos, a big part of this Chevy’s appeal is its stance. The front of the car rides on tubular A-arms that are finished with coil-overs and Wilwood AFX Pro Spindles. Stops come courtesy of a Wilwood DynaPro big brake kit, which is paired with a hydroboost master cylinder. The mini-tubbed rear accommodates Viking Crusader double-adjustable coil-overs and massive Mickey Thompson Sportsman tires.

Sinister And Modern
Laughlin reimagined the classic interior of the 1957 Chevrolet 210 sedan with a modern touch. The most striking change is the dash hump, which was moved to the center to house touchscreen gauges. The cabin features custom black leather with red stitching that flows into the trunk. A Gen V Vintage Air system keeps the ride cool while shaved doors clean up entry. All remaining trim is powder-coated black to complete the “Sinister” vibe.

Crossing The Block
This unique custom is scheduled to sell on Friday, March 20, 2026. It brings celebrity provenance and top-tier fabrication work from Conquer Custom. The next owner gets more than just a car, they get a piece of automotive television history that’s built with genuine family pride. Whether you’re looking for a show car or a weekend cruiser, this Chevy checks every box.
