We all love fourth-generation Camaros, right? For many of us, fourth-gens were the cars that kicked off the massive Chevrolet performance renaissance that we’re all still enjoying. Naturally, there is a large amount of aftermarket support for these classics, and one of the coolest upgrades any enthusiast can make is Dakota Digital’s 1997-02 Camaro RTX Instruments

Dakota Digital RTX

One of the best aspects of Dakota Digital’s RTX line is that it was designed to add to the appeal of the vehicle rather than reinventing the look of the vehicle. The 1997-02 Camaro RTX Instruments supplement a largely OEM appearance with the modern technology every enthusiast desires. The gauge layout, face styling, and pointers are traditional GM, while crisp LED backlighting and high-definition TFT message centers offer infinite customization.

In addition to high-definition TFT message centers that can be configured to display just about anything, Dakota Digital’s 1997-02 Camaro RTX Instruments feature proprietary electronic back lighting with 12 presets and over 30 different colors.

Dakota Digital builds every cluster from scratch, beginning with a CNC-machined housing. Proprietary electronic back lighting has 12 presets and can be adjusted to over 30 different colors. Worried about nighttime glare? Not a problem with RTX, as the cluster has different brightness settings that can either be controlled by the car’s headlight switch or manually adjusted with the addition of the firm’s DIM-1 Light Dimming Kit.

Dakota Digital’s DIM-1 Light Dimming Kit can easily control the brightness of your RTX gauges.

RTX’s high-definition TFT message centers, which can be configured to display just about anything, include performance metrics for 0-60 times, ¼ and ⅛-mile runs, high speed recall, and high rpm recall. Buyers can add a compass, and if additional readings are needed, Dakota Digital’s BIM module can facilitate up to 16 additional gauges.

Installation is straightforward, since the gauges use a central control box and, with the help of a Dakota Digital BIM-01-2, are compatible with both OEM and aftermarket fuel injection. The system’s functions can also be app-controlled through Apple or Android devices.

For enthusiasts who appreciate the fourth-gen Camaro’s factory styling but want modern performance data and reliability, Dakota Digital’s RTX Instruments strike the perfect balance. They preserve the familiar GM look while integrating the kind of advanced technology today’s builds demand–customizable lighting, track-ready performance metrics, expanded gauge capability, and seamless compatibility with both OEM and aftermarket systems. It’s a clean, well-engineered upgrade that enhances the driving experience without compromising the car’s identity.
