There’s no denying the fact that most car enthusiasts own more cars than the Average Joe. The frequent buying and selling makes for quite the expense. Think about it, on top of the price of the car, you have registration, insurance, maintenance, etc. Well, Cadillac claims to have solved these headaches (somewhat).
Most of us here at the office are fans of the Cadillac CTS-V, I mean, what LSX-lover isn’t? Well, now you can drive it, and up to 17 other Cadillacs of your choosing, for $1,500 per month.
Cadillac is, in essence, launching a “Netflix” for the automotive industry. They are launching a service called “BOOK,” including an app which allows users to swap between current year Caddys without paying for registration, insurance, or maintenance– all of which are included in the flat monthly fee. The vehicles available include the XT5, CT6, Escalade, and the V-Series. Customers are able to swap cars up to 18 times a year, as often as once every single day.
“BOOK by Cadillac is an innovative new option targeted at a growing class of luxury drivers searching for access to various cars over time, dependent on their individual needs, coupled with a hassle-free white-glove exchange,” said Cadillac Chief Marketing Officer, Uwe Ellinghaus.
Imagine– driving your daily that’s good on gas during the week, then swapping over to an Escalade for a weekend trip with your friends. Sounds good to us. Requested vehicles will be delivered to the users location and there are no mileage restrictions, so you can even enjoy your long commute in your new Caddy. But this may be the best part– it’s contract-free, so if you only feel like sporting a V for a couple months out of the year, you can!
This seems like it would be perfect for the Cadillac fan. The new service will soon launch in the New York Metro area, then slowly expand.
