The 1972 is a great Vette, sadly the gorgeous car above is not what we found. The green 1972 Chevrolet Corvette shown below, was recently available on eBay for $6,000, brought to us by the seller, vettesports. From time to time, we stumble across some real finds on eBay, whether they are a turn-key car that’s ready to tear up some pavement, or the foundation for a great project. Unfortunately for all of the Corvette purists and lovers alike, this is probably not one of those finds.
The car is listed in used condition with an introductory note from the seller that reads, “ten foot paint job no clear coat but a decent, needs front spoiler plus valance radiator support rusted out bad, engine, passenger side window doesn’t work and driver side is off track. windshield at bottom is cracked have new windshield for it.” Aside from the broken description, it’s not exactly a captivating sentence, at least not the one you’d want to lead with when trying to sell a car.
Everybody has their own ideas as to what makes for a great car or a great build, and that is one of the great things about building or customizing a car, is you can make it your own. However, if you’re not careful, your choices can severely impact the size of your resale market. This C3 is most likely an example of this, as it has gone a bit off track from the norm and what most buyers would appreciate.
The listing was pulled down by the seller, so perhaps he was able to sell it outside of eBay. If this is the case, we hope the new owner has the means to make a great car out of this ’72. Perhaps a “wild 70’s Corvette” is now in the works! What would you do with the car?
