We’re sure all of you that are reading this know what a CTS-V is by now and the kind of capabilities it possesses, but if you’re not familiar with the Hennessey CTS VR1200 builds, take notes. With production limited to 12 cars, it would be really rare to see one of these beasts cruising around town on any given Sunday.
Hennessey has taken the CTS-V, re-wrote the script on what they think the CTS-V should be and turned it into another one of their awesome supercar-like creations. For starters, they got rid of the 6.2L displacement and bumped up the specs to 7.0-liters with high flow cylinder heads and full forged internals.
From there, they add a pair of ball bearing precision turbos, upgraded fuel system, adjustable boost controller, air-to-water intercooler, HPE engine management calibration, and more. Hennessey even offers a 3-year/36,000 mile limited warranty, which is cool because a lot of cars from high horsepower builders don’t come with warranties.
More carbon fiber goodies include the hood extractor, front fenders, front splitter, rear diffuser, and rear fender flares. The brakes are upgraded to Brembo 8-piston fronts and 6-piston rears with 15.1 inch carbon ceramic rotors. The factory Magnetic Ride Control was lowered an inch and tuned by John Heinricy to maintain great handling and a comfortable, yet sporty feel.
This particular 1,226 horsepower CTS VR1200 has only 410 miles on the odometer and found no buyers with a price tag of a whopping $259,000. Are they asking too much, or is the performance bump worth the price tag? Check out the auction or Hennessey’s website for more information on this beast.
