You may have read earlier this week that Edelbrock has just released their brand-new E-Force supercharger for the 2016 Camaro SS. Just to recap, these 50-state legal (in Stage 1 trim) superchargers can boost the performance of your manual or automatic SS Camaro from a respectable 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque to a tire-shredding 580 horsepower and 548 lb-ft gf torque.
Keep in mind, that is just 70 horsepower shy of the Z06’s veritable 650 horsepower. These superchargers are capable of adding massive amounts of horsepower without affecting drivability or emissions compliance, even in California.
The E-Force supercharger, displacing 2.3 liters, is very similar to the huffer found atop the exotic ZR1 and is, in fact, larger than the 1.74-liter unit found on the current-generation Z06. However, this unit is still a fourth-generation design that features a water-to-air intercooler and dual-pass heat exchanger.
Not only does this supercharger boost total output by up to 31%, it does so all while fitting under the factory hood. No need for cutting or trimming, ensuring what ever you line up against won’t know what hit them until they are seeing are tail lights.
Edelbrock is so confident in its engineering and manufacturing, which happens right here in the U.S., they offer a free 3-year/36,00-mile limited powertrain warranty. When was the last time your performance parts came with warranties like that?
In the video above, Edelbrock takes you behind the scenes and put you in the driver seat as they discuss the new E-Force supercharger.
