The No. 88 Autohaus Motorsports Camaro GT.R is equipped with Forgeline’s ZX3R wheels. With the advanced three-piece design, forged 6061-T aluminum centers, heat-treated rim shells and lightweight construction, the ZX3Rs make for the perfect combination of weight savings, stiffness, fatigue strength and reparability for any race team. Wrapped in Continental rubber, these Forgeline race wheels proved to be beneficial to the Autohaus Motorsports team, carrying them all the way to the number one position at the finish of the race.
Taylor and Edwards had a ran-soaked practice and qualifying round Friday to pull through for their placement in Saturday’s race. With a fourth place starting position, however, the team had a near perfect execution for the big day between well-planned strategy, flawless pits tops and impeccable driving that landed them the lead position for a class best of 35 laps led.
Congratulations goes out to Autohaus Motorsports for their Grand-Am win and to Forgeline for their part in helping the team get their first win of the season. Congratulations also goes out to Chevrolet who in addition to taking the GT class win, also took the DP class win with a one-two finish by the Action Express Corvette Daytona Prototypes.
Both the GT and DP classes will be back in action this weekend when the next round of the Grand-Am Series heads to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio for the EMCO Gears Classic. Be sure to stay tuned for more updates on LSX-based team wins and to follow Jordan Taylor, along with his Corvette Racing teammates as they prepare to take on the 24 Hours of Le Mans in just a couple weeks.
