I’m flying from Tampa, to Milwaukee tomorrow, then a taxi home to collect my 2010 ZR1 from our house in northern Illinois. Early Thursday I start the 945 mile drive to Arlington, Texas, the starting point for this year’s Hot Rod Power Tour. I need to collect my wife and Rupert our Chihuahua at Dallas/Ft. Worth, as they are flying over directly from Tampa on Friday lunch time. Any law enforcement officers seeing a fast moving blue streak please look kindly on the driver on Thursday/Friday – it might be me!

I am very excited about the tour, but really have no idea what we are letting ourselves in for; it sounds like a 7 day car show starting at Arlington, rolling through Texarkana, Little Rock, Memphis, Birmingham, Chattanooga and finally Mooresville, South Carolina.

I am planning on trying to do an update every day from the road, so I will be taking lots of pictures. If you see ZEE RRR 1 out and about on the tour, please honk and wave, and at the stops please come over and say “hi” as I need people to talk to for my daily updates, as a week of nothing but my own experiences might get a little boring. I really want to talk to all of the Corvette owners on the Tour, but given the potential size of the crowd this might prove difficult, so if you have a great story about your Corvette please try and come and find me and I will do my best to capture it.
