Former pro wrestler Hulk Hogan and radio “personality” Bubba the Love Sponge have volunteered their celebrity status to help a Florida charity for the second year in row. According to Tampa Bay Online, Stingray Chevrolet will again partner with Hulk and Bubba to raffle off a 2011 Special Edition Camaro 1SS.
Pro wrestling fans will rejoice in knowing the Hulkster will autograph the car as well (perhaps this is their chance to own a little piece of a B-list celeb). Stingray Manager Steve Hurley and Mr. the Love Sponge’s BTLS Foundation purchased the Camaro and the proceeds of the ticket sales will benefit Unity in the Community.
Tickets are available for sale at Stingray Chevrolet through March 11, 2011 for $5 each. The winner will be picked at the Florida Strawberry Festival on March 13th, 2011 at 5 pm. Tickets will also be available at the festival and the winner does not need to be present. Unity in the Community will provide thirty $1,000 scholarships to needy high school graduates in May of this year.
Of course no good deed goes unpunished, and we can’t run a Hulk Hogan-related car story without bringing up his son, Nick. According to Jalopnik, Hogan’s son Nick Bollea claims that he has a terrible driving record, and after nearly killing a close friend during a street racing crash, he spent 166 days in jail for reckless driving. Bollea claimed that the infamous yellow Supra attracted the ladies, while green and silver colored cars attract the fellas. Being that the Camaro is a bright green hue, perhaps Bollea should stay far away unless he wants to attract the attention of his former cellmates (like Vegas, what happens in jail stays in jail). Keep your fingers crossed that Bollea stays far away from the Camaro so that Florida’s needy children are not deprived of a college education.
