Have you ever dreamed of owning a vehicle powered by a GM LS3 V8? How about a beast of an open-wheel racecar? While it might not be reality for some of us to own such a vehicle, we can now come a little closer to our dream with the latest computer wallpaper created from a photo taken by photographer Eric Cartner.

The photograph consists of the engine, which powers a racecar named Green Earth Team Gunnar Oreca FLM09, up close from the rear of the vehicle. The image captures the engine, and feeling of the track, in all its glory. Jalopnik.com is offering the image in the form of a wallpaper in two different sizes. These include a 16,000px version on their website and a desktop size version on their Facebook page.

So now, rather than opening your computer to flowers, playful kittens or a drunken picture of your friends, you can open it to a dream of a GM LS3 small block. Sounds to me like a good way to kick a new day into gear.
