The C8 Corvette ZR1 produces well over 1,000 horsepower from its twin-turbocharged flat-plane crank V8. With numbers like that, the color you order barely matters. Barely. However, a photo posted to the Corvette C8 Z06, ZR1 & E-Ray Facebook group suggests someone may have built the ugliest C8 ZR1 spec the community has ever seen.
A Color Combo That Raises Eyebrows
Chris Gladin spotted the car at a local dealership and shared it with the group on March 20. He called it “probably the ugliest C8 ZR1 spec I’ve seen.” The car is Silver Flare Metallic with a Tan interior. While inoffensive, that pairing is definitely not exciting. But when you throw in yellow brake calipers and blue wheels, it pushes the spec straight into controversial territory. Gladin even noted that some commenters seemed unaware of the full combination, so he spelled it out directly.
Not Everyone Will Agree

Spec debates are nothing new in the automotive community. Still, most enthusiasts agree this one is a tough sell. Color combinations that look questionable in photos sometimes work better in person. Occasionally, the opposite is also true. Whether this ZR1 looks better under showroom lights than it does in photos is hard to say without seeing it in person.
Furthermore, what is clear is that this spec is generating conversation. For a car this capable, it is unfortunate that the color combination is the first thing people notice. The ZR1 represents the pinnacle of what General Motors can build in a street car. Most buyers choose a spec that reflects that reputation. Whether this particular one ever finds a willing buyer remains to be seen.
