If you plan on being competitive at a high level in autocross or road racing, you’ll need the entire package. While driving skills and a well-tuned car are essential, a powerful yet reliable engine is also part of a winning equation. Fortunately, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (LPE) offers a race-proven engine with is Eliminator Spec R series LS7.

If you want to know how good the Eliminator Spec R engine is, look no further than the performance of Drive Ultimate Street Car Association (USCA) racer, Jake Rozelle. Rozelle just won his second straight USCA at Willow Springs with the LPE Eliminator engine with his C5 Corvette in the super-competitive GTL class.

The Eliminator Spec R engine is a naturally aspirated LS7 that cranks out an impressive 800 horsepower. Lingenfelter blueprints the block and cylinder heads before the engine assembly goes together. The block is machined for new sleeves, which centers the bores and eliminates any core shift while the heads get full CNC treatment.

For the development of this engine, Lingenfelter worked with several manufacturers to build the perfect components needed for this 8,000 RPM capable engine. Items like the rods, pistons, and a customs camshaft were all engineered for street and track performance while providing a robust platform. Another specific part that was used on this particular build is a carbon fiber intake manifold from PTR. But, Lingenfelter didn’t stop there. They even incorporated a heat mitigation coating on its headers, which decreases the underhood temperatures while maintaining its killer look.
