A perk of being an automotive journalist is getting to check out the industry’s top performance companies along with their cars. Recently, some journalists got the opportunity to check out the latest that Hotchkis Sport Suspension has to offer for the 2010-2011 Camaro at the Motor Press Guild (MPG) track day at the California Speedway. Not only did journalists get to check out the Hotchkis Total Vehicle System, they also got the opportunity to feel it in action while driving a 2010 Hotchkis-equipped Camaro SS. Thanks to a recently uploaded Hotchkis YouTube video, we can ride along as MPG President James Bell takes to the track in the Camaro with Mark Hotchkis.
Hotchkis Sport Suspension was at the Motor Press Guild to showcase the difference that the new Hotchkis Total Vehicle System can make on the fifth-generation Camaro. The Total Vehicle System makes use of coil springs, end links, a chassis brace, sway bar and a strut tower brace to better the Camaro’s handling.
With Mark Hotchkis behind the wheel initially, Bell gets information about how the Camaro reacts and feels different on the track course. Hotchkis not only points out the increased stability of the car in the left-right transitions, but also the way the car transfers weight better in the rear upon acceleration than the with the stock set-up. Once Bell is behind the wheel, he expresses his intrigue over the Hotchkis set-up, telling Mark Hotchkis, “You definitely made the Camaro what we all hoped it would be.”
