Excitement continues to build as Camaro5Fest rapidly approaches, and the special announcements continue to roll in at a rapid pace as well. Lingenfelter Performance Engineering announced that their 2010 Camaro SS will be turned over to the engine experts on the drag strip during the second annual Camaro5Fest.
For those unfamiliar with the Lingenfelter ’10 SS, it was the first full-weight 5th generation SS to dip into the 8’s at nearly 160 mph in November of 2010; the actual ET was an 8.997 at 158.8 mph. Since that record-setting time, the guys at Lingenfelter Performance Engineering have not left it alone; they have continued to make improvements and are looking forward to testing the car at Firebird International Raceway.
Lingenfelter modified the Camaro’s suspension from a “drag race inspired” set-up to a full drag suspension package that was developed in combination with Pedders. Other modifications include a RPM built face-plated transmission and Lingenfelter Performance Engineering torque cut module. The LS9 SS drag package features a 427 CID LSX engine, GM LS3 cylinder heads ported by LPE, the RPM transmission, strain gauge shifter and an LPE 2-step with the LPE torque cut module. Along with testing the new modifications to the SS, Lingenfelter will be introducing a vehicle and engine package at the event as well.
