Are you addicted to horsepower. Do you bleed motor oil and breathe high-octane fuel? Are you as well versed with a wrench as you are with the English language?
If so, you could be exactly who we are looking for. LSXMag.com, one of the many websites under the Power Automedia empire, is searching for a proven LS engine expert who can turn nitty gritty technical details into easy-to-digest news stories and features to fill a full-time position as editor of LSXMag.com. Is that person you?
First understand, working for Power Automedia is unlike any other job you’ve ever had. You’ll be required to work in-house at our Temecula, California-based offices, though you could be required to travel to events on either coast from time to time. This is a full-time office job, but you’ll get blasted by hot exhaust and have your eardrums burst from the unfiltered sound of 2,000 horsepower LS engines roaring to life just a few feet from your face every now and then. Hopefully, you’re into that sort of thing.
As for who we are looking for, well, you MUST have at least 3+ years of editorial or publishing experience. Sorry recent college grads, but blogging. for your mom’s home-based travel agency doesn’t count. You should also be very familiar with both working on the Internet and social media websites like Facebook and Twitter…and it still doesn’t count if its for your mom’s blog.
You also have to demonstrate a deep knowledge of GM performance cars equipped with the LS series of engines. You should also be able to explain why, in 100 words or less, the LS engines are the greatest engine line ever built. (…Cuz it is…)
Working as an editor will require you to set and hold deadlines, both for yourself an an army of wrench-wielding freelancers who will most likely turn you into a sputtering, incoherent loon by the end of every work day. But above all, you must have passion for the automotive hobby. While we want a biased, ardent defender of all things LSx, you should have a working knowledge of all American automakers and their products. Know thy enemy and such.
Do you have what it takes? Could you be the next editor of LSXMag.com? If you think you have the knowledge, gumption, and masochistic tendencies extremely hard work ethic required by the position, submit a resume to jobs@powertvmedia.com.
