Monster Clutches now offers their LT1-S Twin-Disc premium package to owners of the 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V. This LS-powered Cadillac rocket ship has a manual transmission and plenty of power that requires a sturdy clutch to support its performance needs. As with most LS-powered vehicles, it is almost too easy to add horsepower, but having a clutch that is able to effectively transfer the power to the transmission without ending up in a million pieces is another story entirely. This is where the performance gurus at Monster Clutches prepared a package destined to save the day. They offer a variety of clutches to meet both the performance needs and driving styles of the user.
Specifications and Features
The LT1-S Twin Disc Clutch Package is able to support up to 700-horsepower without an issue. Not just 700 horsepower at the flywheel, this package is designed for CTS-V models that are putting up to 700 horsepower and 700 ft-lbs of torque to the tires. This clutch is designed with street and performance use in mind. According to Monster Clutches, the LT1-S Twin Disc Clutch has refined street manner, nearly nonexistent chatter, and great high RPM release with factory hydraulics. Along with this host of benefits, the driver will not end up with one calf muscle that is significantly larger than the other thanks to the friendly pedal effort. This results in a driver-friendly pedal feel that makes street driving pleasant and does not require superhuman strength to switch gears.
Although it is pretty simple to achieve high horsepower through the addition of a supercharger, nitrous oxide, or turbocharger on an LS engine, as long as it stays at 700 rear-wheel horsepower, this clutch kit can handle it. Monster Clutches has tested this kit to above 7,500 RPM without release issues or other problems. This kit comes with all required hardware and a billet steel flywheel.
Monster also offers Premium Packages for the 2009-’14 CTS-V’s and other vehicles as well. For more information on these products, check out Monster Clutches’ website.
