If you won the lottery, what would you buy? Obviously, this question has been asked thousands of times but very few people actually get the chance to make their dreams come true from actual Lotto winnings. Lucky for Mark and Cindy Hill of Dearborn, Missouri, they are among the select few who do. But it’s not the mere sum of money that the Hill’s won on Wednesday’s Powerball drawing that interests us most. It’s what Mark Hill intends to buy with a fraction of his new-found money – a bright red Camaro. Not a bad way to start a major spending spree!

When the $587.5 million Powerball purse was announced, people all over the country lined up at super markets and gas stations to try their luck at getting even a minute portion of the unbelievable sum. But when all was said and done and the winning numbers were drawn, only two people found themselves in possession of tickets containing all the right numbers.

According to the Chicago Tribune the Hills bought just five tickets locally, and were against the one in 176 million odds of matching all their Powerball numbers. But as it turns out, luck was on their side. Having checked the numbers at the local Trex Mart after dropping the couple’s 6-year-old daughter off at school the day after the drawing, Cindy Hill made the astonishing discovery that she, in fact, held a little piece of paper worth a lot of money…a whole lot of money. In total, the Hill’s won $293,750,000 before taxes, and opted to take a lump sum of $193 million rather than spreading the winnings out over 30 years.

The big question now remains what "Red Camaro" Mark Hill wants to buy. An SS? A ZL1? Perhaps a COPO? Maybe 10 of each?

While the Hills joked that they’ll be “having a good Christmas” at a news conference announcing their winnings at the very high school where they became sweethearts back in the 1970s, they also noted a few specific items they’ll be looking to spend their money on. Among them are college educations for relatives, charitable donations, a horse for Cindy, a pony for their daughter, and a new bright red Camaro for Mark. While we’re not sure what generation of Camaro Mark has his eye on (hopefully a brand new ZL1), we’re pretty sure he could have just about any one he wanted, or several from every generation for that matter.

We’ve all dreamed of winning a large lottery sum and if you’re lucky enough like the Hills, it might actually happen one day. For the rest of us, however, we’re much more likely to die of a bee sting (1 in 6.1 million chance), be attacked by a shark (1 in 11.5 million chance) or make a hole in one on consecutive par-3 golf holes (1 in 156 million chance) according to BostInno. Think about those odds and decide if luck is on your side.
