When a naturally aspirated combination begins to achieve numbers that most boosted cars find difficult to match, it garners attention. That is precisely what happened when Brandon T. Hill broke the NA Camaro record with his sixth-gen, laying down an impressive 8.64 at 155 mph with a 1.16 sixty-foot. With him in the seat and running on VP Racing Fuel C85, the car delivered a clean, consistent pass that instantly captured the attention of the Camaro community.

Brandon’s car has been a strong performer for a long time, but this latest milestone is the result of steady refinement. Since picking the car up from Gwatney Performance Innovation in April 2025, he has been working through the setup little by little, focusing on efficiency and repeatability instead of major overhauls. The only new part added during that time is the Peace Performance OTT intake, which helped the combination breathe better on the top end without upsetting the car’s drivability or reliability.

Immediate Success And Consistent Progress

That attention to detail showed its value almost immediately. Only three days after retrieving the Camaro from GPI in April, Brandon entered Street Car Bragging Rights at Rockingham Dragway and drove straight to a 2nd Place finish in the All Motor category. Competing at that level so quickly is rare, especially with a car that had barely returned home, but the foundation of the build and Brandon’s experience paid off.

From there, the car kept improving. Each outing provided more data, and every adjustment sharpened the combination. Brandon focused on repetitive testing, smooth launches, and a predictable chassis that would carry each pass with confidence. By the time conditions aligned for the car’s record-setting run, the Camaro was operating at its full potential.

Refinement Over Constant Changes

What makes this accomplishment even more impressive is how Brandon approaches his program. Instead of constant part changes, he prioritizes data, track time, and maintains consistency. Each pass is an opportunity to fine-tune the setup, and every improvement compounds. That philosophy is what turned a strong NA car into the quickest naturally aspirated sixth-gen Camaro on record.

The NA Camaro record run reflects both the strength of the platform and the potential of a well-executed all-motor combination. Brandon’s achievement is a milestone for the community and a reminder of the results that come from careful tuning, smart decisions, and dedication to long-term progress.
