Collaboration is the the crux of many creative endeavors, whether its a television show, a gourmet meal, or a top-end hot rod.The Teutul of Orange County Choppers are no strangers to creativity of collaboration… well, at least until father and son started feuding. And that creativity has paid off, allowing them what you could call a “comfortable” existence with access with some awesome toys.
One of those toys showed up on eBay the other day, but the listing has since been pulled. The obvious question is “who bought Paul Teutul Sr.’s one-of-one Hurst Edition Trans Am?”
This car has been covered extensively, on television and through print media. The Trans Am Depot owns the name to the rights Trams Am as relating to vehicles, licensed by the SCCA. In exchange for three custom choppers themed after the ‘69 GTO, ‘69 Trans Am, and 77-78 Trans Ams, the Trans Am Depot would build Sr. a one-off Hurst Edition Trans Am based on the 2010 Chevy Camaro.
And while it is still clearly a Camaro underneath, it is also the closest any of us could come to owning a modern Trans Am. The car, which was for sale for $125,000, has since been pulled off of eBay. Was it bought, or did Sr. reconsider selling this particular toy? We may never know.
