Pro-Touring 1977 Pontiac Trans Am Turns Heads At LS Fest

For whatever reason, we keep finding extremely clean LS-swapped Trans Ams all over the place. And while most of them have been located on the internet, our latest discovery comes from BP Automotive while displaying products at LS Fest East 2020. Joe Ferrell is the owner and builder of this pristine LS-powered Pontiac, which was built in his garage. In the video, Ferrall and Bill Hillock, owner of BP Automotive, give us a detailed look at this beauty.

The Pontiac labeled coil covers do a nice job at hiding the unsightly LS6 ignition coils.

The 1977 Pontiac Trans Am, which has an LS6 engine along with a lot of custom touches. Under the hood, Ferrell built custom aluminum panels to cover the radiator. The fender supports are also dimpled for a custom look. Our favorite part of the engine is the Pontiac coil covers and the use of the iconic Trans Am hood scoop even though it’s not functional.
BP Automotive’s Show Stopper braided loom and harness are also a nice touch as Ferrell hid as much wiring as possible.

This ‘Bird is super clean on the inside and out. The black and gold theme is apparent on the exterior and interior of the vehicle.

The interior of the car also has some really subtle touches. The black dash is offset with some gold accents, as are the door panels and even the trunk. A set of Dakota Digital gauges were used in this build along with a custom steering wheel. Since the car came from the factory with an air conditioning system, Ferrell decided to leave it alone and not go with an aftermarket unit. In our opinion, we like the factory unit because it came from the OEM that way.

Dakota Digital gauges allow Ferrell to keep an eye on the engine’s vitals while cruising down the road.

Ferrell’s Trans Am also rides on Pro-Touring suspension, Willwood brakes, and gold aftermarket wheels. And while we would have loved to see a manual transmission in this F-Body, we’re perfectly fine with an automatic. The black and gold theme is evident throughout this build, and we love the addition of “The Bandit” logos and the gold firebird throughout the build.
