From the moment of its inception, the Corvette has been a beloved vehicle– there’s no denying that. Today, there are over 1.5 million ‘Vettes in existence and they’re still extremely popular, but lets be honest…they are hardly rare.
So, what do you do when you have an iconic product that for all intents and purposes, is a mass produced commodity?
For years now, all types of car enthusiasts have zeroed in on build numbers, rare options, and colors to differentiate milestones from run-of-the-mill models. We’re pretty sure sellers benefits from these rare options too, as they seem to bring bigger bucks.
But, there’s no denying that these options are part of what make cars so special. That brings us to this 1955 Corvette Roadster in “Corvette Copper.” It’s one of only 15 produced in the 1955 model year and guess what?– it’s on the auction block.
It’s true– Color can make or break almost anything. A dress, a tie, or your sofa. This unique shade of copper is especially fetching on this mid-mod Corvette and when paired with the beige interior, we can just picture it back in the day out in sunny Los Angeles cruisin’ down the boulevard.
How much this car will bring is anyones guess. Next month at the RM Sotheby’s Rétromobile sale in Paris, France, fans will find out– and one lucky person will be taking this baby home.
So, what do you think about color and cars? Does the color of a car make or break a purchase for you?
