We would first like to thank all of our readers who responded to the “Reader Reaction Poll” put out via Facebook earlier in the week. With over twenty-five responses and many pictures shared of their own cars, it was tough to narrow it down to a few to show… we just love them all! As you read on you will see that we broke it down into four main categories, while we had about four readers who just use their beloved Corvette wherever the asphalt takes them.

Daily Drivers

The first area of use is for those that love driving their Vettes so much, they just use it everyday. While their has been a longtime healthy rivalry between the Corvette and the Porsche 911, some common ground these folks share is that they wanted to buy a sports car that you can still drive everyday. Many of the high performance cars out there offer little to no creature comforts, are so low they’re only suitable for smooth roads/tracks thanks to a lack of clearance and ground kissing front spoilers, and often come with a price tag that makes weary of removing it from the garage. That is one of the beautiful things about the Corvette, its performance is close to or surpasses many of those limiting sports cars yet it’s still suited to drive on a daily basis despite your route.

Weekend Drivers

The next category consists of those of us that prefer to save our high performance machines for the part of the week where the ties and work boots come off, and our special rides come out. About a third of our readers fell into this category in one way or another. While some may drive them a little more then just the weekends, they are still reserved for select driving, car shows and club events; yet they rarely venture out into inclement weather.

Race Cars

Another great use of the Corvette, which we happen to love at Corvette Online, is using America’s sports car as a weekend racer.  As anyone knows that has heard an open-piped Corvette at a race track… despite what else is rolled out of semis and race trailers, nothing can compare to the rumbling thunder that the Corvette makes down that front straight.  We were happy to hear from one such reader that submitted a picture of two vehicles he puts some laps down with out at Blackhawk Farms Raceway.

Garage Queens

Last but not least, are those prized and pampered cars that spend the majority of their time under covers and in garages, and often both.  These cars are usually dream finds for those in the used market should they come up for sale due to low miles and a lack of environmental wear on the car.  The two Corvettes pictured above live such a life and probably present themselves as such, and who can really blame them.  Again, that is one of the great things about the Corvettes we all love… they can serve their owners in number of uses, and do one heck of a job at it.
