After more than a few years since its unveiling, most of us are now pretty familiar with the original concept for the C7 Stingray. While many of its features made it into the C7 we now know and love, the concept as a whole always looked a bit far-fetched. As far as most ‘Vette enthusiasts are concerned (ourselves included), GM made the right choice by toning down all of that imagination with the production model.

However, the mastermind behind this eye-sore apparently thought otherwise. We first encountered one of the aberrations about four years ago on eBay, with the seller stating that three were created in total.

That ad is long gone, but just recently we came across this yellow replica for sale (the term “replica” is used loosely). As with the first replica we found, a C6 chassis serves as the base and the hundreds of pounds of fiberglass “enhancement” are intended to fashion the beast into a clone of the C7 Stingray concept.Evidently, nobody’s biting. These replicas have been in existences since shortly after GM’s Stingray concept debuted and have been for sale on eBay since their discovery. But with a price tag of just under $40,000 like this yellow replica has, we can imagine why public reception has been lukewarm.Yes, it’s ugly, and yes, Corvettes were defaced to make it. But on the bright side, at least the death toll included only three C6s; the company responsible for the concept-copycats received a cease and desist from the General itself before anymore could be made.

However, perhaps if you tilt your head, squint your eyes and stand far enough back, it doesn’t look quite so bad…
