As the addiction goes for Troy Reynolds of Houston, Texas his tale begins at the age of 10 when his father shows his young son the art of the burnout as the air fills with smoke and young Reynolds experiences his first breath of burning rubber as power hits the pavement in an unforgettable display. A passion that would develop into a life-long love of the auto, which began on this memorable day, would eventually lead to the acquirement Reynolds dream ride, a 2005 C6 Corvette.
With some of our most impulsive purchases often turning out to be the wisest, this was as such for Reynolds when upon awakening one faithful morning he decided this was the day and the search began. After thirteen test drives and a run in with a salesman at a local dealership who was un-willing to negotiate on pricing, Reynolds would eventually find his perfect match via the world-wide web.
Upon purchase, the work quickly began to transform the 2005 C6 into a trackable street legal ride. Beginning with the interior a Pfadt four-point roll cage and five-point safety harness was put into place along with a pillar gauge to monitor fuel pressure, boost and air/fuel ratio and finishing with an in the glove box Snow Performance Methanol injection controller.
Moving to the exterior, with carbon fiber the theme, Reynolds dropped on a OEM ZR1 hood, Halltech rear Z06 fenders, a rear diffuser from a C7 Carbon, along with the addition of C5 airbrushed emblems by Chaotic Customs and enhancing an already aggressive stance he next dropped on HRE 540 19/20” wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero tires and Bilstein shocks for smooth street or track navigation.
Sporting a LS2 based aluminum block that has been bored and stroked to 404 cubic inches with Bosch 127lb. injectors along with additional power support via a 10:1 compression with custom ground turbo cam and TrickFlow 235 heads and finishing with a stock LS2 intake and throttle body which is force fed by a custom built 88mm rear mount turbo system this ride was recently dyno’d dropping 843HP to the rear wheel on 14psi. In addition a DTE rear brace has been added along with a Spec twin disc clutch for improved track handling.
