Back in the day of the 4th Gen F-bodies, SLP earned itself a reputation as a power-house tuning company in the US. Then when the Camaro was reborn in 2009, they once again started putting their renowned touch on a batch of brand new SS Camaros. The cars got a variety of styling, suspension, and power upgrades aimed at helping it stand out from the crowd, and dominate the streets.
Justin Almon’s 2010 Camaro was one of those first SLP tuned 5th Gen Camaros, but as you can see, a lot has changed with the car since it left SLP. “The Camaro started her life as an SLP ZL550,” Almon tells us. “And now, 2 years later, it’s a 900 plus horsepower, 10-second street car.”
The hood is really the only dead giveaway that Almon's Camaro started life as an SLP ZL550.

An F-1R ProCharger and a shot of giggle gas from Nitrous Express help pump the 427 LSX's output to over 900 horsepower.
In spite of a full 10-point cage in the interior, the car is actually still very street friendly and even runs on pump gas still. That doesn’t mean that it’s still friendly at the track though. “So far, the best time I’ve ran is 10.30 at 137 MPH,” says Almon. “This year I’m going for the 9s. I just need more Seat time in the car!”
