To lose a loved one in a tragic automotive accident is extremely difficult. For one Pontiac driver, Spohn Performance was able to make at least some good come out of a horrific crash. Thanks to Spohn and one of their dedicated customers for bringing us their story of hope in light of tragedy.
Spohn received a letter from a customer’s wife in the middle of August. In the letter, the woman described an accident her husband was involved in behind the wheel of her WS6 Trans Am last August. While he survived the horrific accident, the passenger tragically did not. In her letter, she wrote to thank Spohn for their superior products – not just for the increased handling they provided for her car before the accident, but because of what she believed was life saving technology.
Upon further inspection of the totaled Trans Am, the family found that the subframe connector that had been welded onto the bottom of the car had stopped much of the crushing force of the accident on the driver’s side. The letter writer believes whole-heartedly that the subframe connector is what saved her husband’s life. Included in her letter were before and after pictures of the car. It is a wonder anyone survived the accident based on the images that show the damage to the car.
Our hearts go out to the family and friends who lost a loved one in the tragic accident last August. Spohn commented on the letter, saying they are sorry for the loss of the accident victim but are humbled that their customer believes their product saved her husband’s life.
While we don’t know for sure what factors went into the driver’s life being spared, we commend Spohn for having a product that does more than just stiffen the chassis.
