This past weekend, over 30 gleaming black Camaro SS Convertibles rolled into Texas Motor Speedway for the Samsung Mobile 500 Sprint Cup Race. Unfortunately, these black beasts weren’t at the speedway to race, but to act as the parade vehicles for driver introductions. Each of the newly released 2011 drop-top Camaros were seemingly stock other than being proudly emblazoned with large Chevy Bow-Tie emblems on the doors and hood.
The 168,000 NASCAR race fans in attendance were certainly able to get a good look at their favorite driver’s smiling mug as they rolled by the grandstands with the top down before the race. However, at the end of the night, only Matt Kenseth would be left smiling, as he won his first race at Texas Motor Speedway since 2002. Also of significance, the Samsung Mobile 500 was the first ever NASCAR Sprint Cup Race held at night in the 15 year history of the track.
