General Motors brought the Camaro back to much fanfare in 2009, and to keep the model fresh and new, they have pledged to roll out a series of special edition vehicles about every six months. Two of the first special editions were a Transformers Edition Camaro (that looked just like Bumblebee in car form) and the Synergy Green color scheme. With a new Transformers movie soon to come, we’re pretty sure another Transformers Edition Camaro is on the way.
But Synergy Green production is about to come to an end, reports Camaro Z28, so if you’ve been waffling on getting a new, bright green Camaro, than this may be your last shot.
Synergy Green was first available only on LT Camaro models, which were the “premium” V6 models. Then at some point GM relented and allowed Synergy Green to be a premium paint choice on Camaro SS models too. The Big Three all have a history of brightly hued cars, and we think Synergy Green hit the nail on the head. It is bright and outlandish without sacrificing too much seriousness. It looks good, without looking gaudy.
Alas, its time has passed, and the last Dealer Order Submission cycle scheduled for Synergy Green Camaros is Thursday, March 10th to Tuesday, March 15th. Synergy Green has accounted for about only 7% (around 3,500 cars) of all Camaro, sales, making it the third least-popular color. It might be worth a few extra dollars to collectors down the road because of the color rarity. While we are looking forward to another Transformers Camaro, we can’t wait to see what other unique colors GM might have in the pipeline.
