Let’s say you have some Powerball money burning a hole in your pocket, and an adrenal gland that just won’t get excited about anything less than 250 mph dragstrip passes. Have we got a deal for you…
It turns out that the former JEGS C5 Corvette Pro Mod car most recently piloted by Troy Coughlin, Jr. is up for sale. For the bargain basement price of just $195,000, you can have a proven, turn-key Pro Mod car with a proven history in NHRA competition. We’re not being sarcastic about the price, either; to build a car like this from scratch would easily push past the quarter million dollar mark.
The chassis is a 2013 R2B2 with a lightweight titanium tail, and the car comes complete with a Pro Line Racing 520 cubic-inch HEMI built around an AJPE / TFX forged aluminum block. As is befitting a championship-winning car, the rest of the build sheet reads like a who’s-who of top-level suppliers:
- Crankshaft: Bryant Custom Billet
- Connecting Rods: Bill Miller Aluminum
- Pistons: Bill Miller
- Rings: Total Seal

While it takes a lot more than just a running car to be successful in Pro Mod competition, having a proven, if perhaps a bit battle-weary ride like this as a starting point for your program would definitely be a plus, especially if the purchase price includes the logbook and all the data this car has collected over several years of competition.
