Turn One Releases Rack and Pinion Hardlines for C4/C5/C6 Corvette

Corvette owners have gotten the goods once again, as Turn One Steering announce that it now offers stainless steel factory replacement rack and pinion hardlines for C4, C5, and C6 Corvettes. These inexpensive components tend to be neglected until they become a problem, which is where America’s top manufacturer of high-performance steering components steps in.

Turn One Steering crafts all of its hardlines for Corvette C4, C5, and C6 models out of stainless steel and includes new o-rings with each product.

Engineered to serve as high-pressure highways for fluid flowing from valve ports to either side of the rack piston, hardlines provide additional steering assistance and play a simple, yet crucial role in the steering system. However, the steel lines utilized by GM tend to be fairly thin, therefore OEM  hardlines are prone to bending and breaking during a collision or while servicing, and are often prone to rust. Turn One explains that even dented lines can cause issues, as restricted flow to the rack results in sloppy steering response feel and premature piston and pump failure.

“We’ve started getting more and more questions about replacement lines,” says Turn One Founder and President, Jeff Roethlisberger. “In many instances customers have cut or thrown out the lines while working on their cars, thinking they could easily be replaced. Then they come to find out the lines are actually very hard to find in the aftermarket or expensive to get through a dealership. We started selling them separately to make it convenient for those Corvette owners to find and purchase replacements at a reasonable cost.”

According to the the Michigan-based steering specialist’s press release, these stainless replacement parts are being sold individually since customers continue to ask for either the short or long side, and rarely for both. Regardless as to which line gets ordered, each Turn One rack and pinion hardline comes complete with new o-rings and a rust-resistant, stainless steel structure.
