An update for the Camaro Homecoming and Ontario Camaro Nationals was released on Wednesday on CamaroZ28.com. As we mentioned back in December, the Camaro Homecoming event will take place at GM’s Oshawa, Ontario assembly plant on the weekend of June 10, 2011. This event will allow enthusiasts to visit the location where the brand new Chevrolet Camaro is being manufactured. The Ontario Camaro Club will also be hosting their annual OCC Nationals at the plant on this weekend.

For those Camaro owners that are bringing their cars to the event, vehicle check-in will be held on Thursday, June 9 in the parking lot of the plant. Vehicle owners must be pre-registered in order to participate. On Saturday, June 10, the plant will be open for self-guided walking tours that should take about two hours to complete. The doors of the plant open at 9:00 a.m. for tours and will be open until 5:30 p.m. for the last group to go through. Cameras will be allowed except for in a couple locations. For safety reason, volunteers will be along the tour route and anyone who is wearing open-toed shoes will not be allowed in the plant.

On Saturday, participants can expect many activities to take place, including an autograph session with Cheryl Pilcher, Al Oppenheiser and Dan Hermer, as well as Camaro team members and plant employees. OCC Nationals awards will be given out and celebrity-pick awards will also be announced. Saturday is also when Chevrolet will be making an important Camaro announcement at the event. More activities and events are still in the works for Saturday’s line-up. Food and merchant vendors, as well as a silent auction to raise funds for spina bifida are also part of the homecoming event.
