Vengeance Racing Introduces Gen V LT1 Drop-In Piston And Rod Kit

Upgrading the performance of an engine is usually time well spent but can come with its share of problems. As you make more power, you will ultimately get to a point where the factory components are no longer able to handle the added horses. A great example of this the new Gen V LT1 from Chevrolet which is known to have some problems when you start to make some decent power at the wheels.

Vengeance Racing now has an option for the Gen V LT1 engines if you are looking to upgrade your vehicle with some serious horsepower. The Vengeance Racing Drop-In Piston And Rod Kit for the Gen V platform were specifically designed to fill an industry gap.

Vengeance Racing has performed extensive testing of these items in their Horsepower Wars Camaro making over 1100HP as well as numerous other combinations around the country.

Ron Mowen, Owner of Vengeance Racing, said, “With forced induction, you can go to about 650 rear-wheel horsepower with the Gen V LT before you start cracking ring lands. We needed a simple solution for our customers that want a supercharger and make 750-800 horsepower at the wheels without having to do a complete engine build. We worked with the engineers at MAHLE to develop a piston that can be dropped in with no balancing or machine work required.”

The Vengeance Racing Drop-In Piston & Rod Kit is rated for 1,200-plus horsepower at the crank and has been rigorously tested to over 1,000 rear-wheel horsepower. The kit includes a set of Mahle 2618 forged pistons, piston rings, and .927 heavy duty .200 wall wrist pins. These pistons will drop the compression to 10.5:1 with a 60cc combustion chamber and a .051 head gasket.

For this LT1 package, Vengeance includes A bulletproof set of Molnar LS Power Adder series connecting rods. The H-beam rods are made of 4340 billet material and measure 6.125-inches in length and include 7/16-inch ARP 2000 rod bolts. These rods are heat treated to increase tensile strength and shot peened to increase fatigue life. Molnar holds the sizes to +/- .0001″ which are some the tightest tolerances you will find in the racing industry. This kit also includes a set of Clevite 663HN connecting rod bearings.
