Today, our neverending quest to bring you the most over-the-top LS videos brings us to HP Motorsports in Katy, Texas, where we are treated to their “Reaper” Camaro (blame the weird video title misspelling on whoever posted it, not us…) spinning the rollers on their dyno. While the full build specs are scarce, a scan of HP’s Facebook page did reveal some interesting details.
The Camaro’s LS is force-fed by a Precision Turbos turbocharger, but since too much is never enough, there’s also a spraybar nitrous system from Nitrous Express plumbed directly into the lower plenum/runner half of the Holley Hi-Ram intake manifold. Engine management is via Holley’s Dominator EFI, and a Racepak dash reports the vital numbers to the lucky person behind the wheel.
In the video, the Camaro’s drag radials struggle to keep in intimate contact with the dyno roller, spinning furiously as the revs climb. The pull records 1,100+ pound feet of torque, but no horsepower due to that lack of traction. Strangely, after not being able to hold the power on the dyno with the car in 1:1 gear, it looks like they finish off with a transbrake launch test, which is doomed to even less of a chance of hooking rubber to roller.
In any case, we’re looking forward to seeing more of this car as they put on the finishing touches just in time for TX2k15.
