Ghost riding is a random act of stupidity that graces YouTube on a regular basis, but rarely does it involve Corvette owners or drivers. Generally most individuals who own or drive Corvettes seem to respect the vehicle (as well as life) a little more than the average ghost rider. Countless examples of exist of owners of T-top equipped vehicles; for example Firebirds and Camaros owners tend to be guilty of this sort of stupidity on a fairly regular basis. However YouTube was able to provide video evidence of a C6 driver who lost their mind and decided to ghost ride ‘da whip on the freeway. Flanked by a street bike and a large SUV running backdoor, our stunt rider climbs from the driver’s seat in order to successfully take advantage of the topless Corvette.
A passing vehicle paces the ghost rider and future Darwin award nominee, as two of the passengers in the vehicle document this ambitious display of idiocy. The driver (rider) perches himself between the two seats to show off his lack fear and common sense while speeding down the freeway; however this foolhardy act could have ended much differently if the C6 hit a pothole on the freeway surface – regardless of how great the alignment is a pothole or large bump would have sent this daredevil into the wall. It is likely that this was a rented car (or at least hope it was) versus it being borrowed from someone’s parents or family member, which is why it never advisable to purchase a performance car from a rental agency.
