Video: GTO VS. Mustang Burnout Competition Ends Badly

While this looks slightly impressive, we're sure there are better venues to pull stunts like this.

We love burnouts. We love videos of burnouts. We love doing burnouts. But we also feel that there’s a time and a place for everything, and doing them in your driveway or in a residential neighborhood isn’t exactly one of them.

When you type in “burnouts” in YouTube’s search box, you can find videos of everything from front-wheel drive imports attempting a smoke show, to stoners falling over. This latest featured video wasn’t too far off from either of those.

Hosted by “BIGKLEIB34,” it shows an amatuerish attempt at a burnout competition between a 2005 GTO and a 1969 Mustang. The video aptly named, “Idiots + Burnouts= Cops!” show just what happens when you endlessly, and pointlessly, attempt such a feat in, and in front of your driveway.

Mustang VS. GTO. As much as we like seeing two cars come face-to-face, we would prefer it better if these guys did this at the dragstrip.

While we have to admit that we love the way the Goat looks and sounds, we found it quite ridiculous that the owner felt it necessary to smoke his tires off in his street’s drain ditch to accomplish ruining his tires. With over 400HP at his disposal it was a marginal attempt, and he should be embarrassed.

"On tonight's episode of COPS..."

But not as embarrassed as the Mustang owner, who solely relies on his right rear tire to demonstrate his car’s horsepower level. Obviously down on power when compared to the blacked-out GTO, we feel the exhibitionist should invest in a posi unit before he tries to show off next time.

The clip ends when a representative from the local constabulary shows up at their house in lieu of the neighbors complaining. We don’t think they were cited, but when the po-po shows up at your front door, it’s never good. Lesson learned, hopefully.
