Cadillac’s lineup is the strongest it has been in years, and some might argue that it is the strongest lineup ever. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few gaping holes that need to be filled. For all the poise and power of the Cadillac CTS, the recently-announced XTS will give premium buyers a bigger bang for their buck. But what about those who want something smaller and sportier, that doesn’t skimp on the luxury? Enter the ATS.GM has put out this second video highlighting the Cadillac ATS’s journey from concept to test mule to production. And this particular video just happens to follow the ATS on its journey to the famed Nurburgring race track.
The Cadillac ATS is being developed as a smaller, cheaper option than the CTS, and GM engineers obviously have performance in mind when developing this car. This sports sedan needs to be tried and tested at the world-renowned Nurburgring, where automakers from around the planet come to tune their vehicles’ suspension and performance.
Interestingly enough, the video seems to highlight changes that the engineers want to make, rather than the normal “OMG this car is so awesome” promo-video. We really like this take on the video, especially getting a chance to hear from the people who really build the cars; engineers.
Cadillac is aiming to build a “true driver’s car, for the street” and so far their progress looks impressive to say the least. We can’t wait to see the end product. Watch the video and we’re sure you’ll feel the same way.
