Is there any vehicle LSx engine enthusiasts won’t drop their potent powerplant into? We think not, though there are signs that LSx-engine guys are getting a bit… bored. Why do we say that? Well it could be the Geo Tracker we saw with a show-quality LS1 engine swap that tipped us off to this trend. But what really gives credence to this train of thought is this latest, greatest video of V8-powered Suzuki shenanigans.
Carscoop came across this trio of videos of a LS1-powered Suzuki Mighty Boy absolutely annihilating its tires during some smoky donuts.
What makes this video so awesomely entertaining is both the ridiculousness of these donuts as well as the irony of the Suzuki Mighty Boy. There was nothing mighty about the original MB, a mini-pickup with about 28 horsepower from its 0.5 liter 3-cylinder engine.
Sold only in Japan, Cyprus, and Australia, it was of course left up to the Aussies to take the Mighty Boy and give it some impressively potent power in the form of an LS1 V8 engine. Coupled with the Mighty Boy’s very low curb weight of just over 1,200 pounds, and you’re talking about a beastly toy truck. The way this madman just throws it around the track, pirouetting amid smoky burnouts, is perhaps the most impressive aspect of this automotive video.
Imagine the sort of madness that might ensue were there a supercharged LS9 under the non-existent hood of this Mighty Boy instead? Yeah, those tires wouldn’t last very long we think. What crazy-light car are you now considering for this kind of insane LS1 swap?
