Within a matter of days, the ZL1 record for the quickest quarter mile pass has already been broken by the tuners at Redline Motorsports. Like any good performance company, Redline took their stock ZL1 to Palm Beach International Raceway for some base line runs essentially as soon as it rolled off the delivery truck. In relatively stock form, the Redline ZL1 ran 11.68 at 118.6 MPH, with the help of some Mickey Thompson Drag Radials and a Redline Intake.
However, in the latest video from Redline their ZL1 sounds noticeably nastier, giving the impression that it isn’t quite so stock anymore. The ZL1 completely kicks down the door of the 10-second range, running a best of 10.32 at 134.79. For now, that is the quickest elapsed time that any ZL1 has turned in.
President of Redline, Howard Tanner, tells us, “The goal for the car was mid 10’s, so were really happy to see it go deep into the 10’s. Now we think that 9’s are within reach!” For now Redline is staying pretty tight-lipped about what all they’ve done to the car but they did tell us that the longblock of the engine is still completely stock, and we get the impression that it has a full array of bolt-on’s. Head over to Redline’s website for more info.
The ZL1 competition is in full effect, and the Camaros just keep turning in better and better time slips. Keep it tuned to LSXMAG for all the updates on who’s got the baddest “Z” around.
