The sheer number of all things Camaro-related awed those who attended Camaro5Fest, from the debut of the 45th anniversary Camaro to drool inspiring show cars. With the event taking place at Firebird International Raceway, there was no doubt that the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving would have something in store for attendees. In fact, fifty people were treated to “hot laps” around the 1.6-mile road course in the passenger seat of a Camaro SS. Bondurant purchased a fleet of the fifth-generation SS models for use at the school. Each of the lucky attendees was treated to a lap around the course with a professional Bondurant instructor behind the wheel.
For those unable to attend or not fortunate enough to take part in the ride along, Bondurant posted a video on YouTube showing a couple of the SS models tearing up the track. With the screech of tires, the pair of yellow SS Camaros pull away and head out onto the track with their passengers safely strapped inside. From the rear-mounted camera on the lead car, viewers witness the Camaro ripping through the turns. A couple times the rear car seems to drift slightly, which had to be real kick in the pants for both the instructor and passenger.
