Maxxtuning AB, a shop in Sweden that specializes in dyno tuning, always releases videos of it’s customer cars. This C6 Chevrolet Corvette on the dyno caught our eye– a quick look at the clip ensures this isn’t any ordinary ‘Vette. Instead of the C6’s usual 6-liter V8 LS2, its housing a turbocharged 2.3-liter Opel C20LET inline-four. Say whaaat? Blasphemy, we say.
Supposedly, the motor was built by TKS Racing, who increased the displacement to 2.3-liter from the factory 2.0. So, as many of you know, the LS2 that comes in the C6 puts out an impressive 400 horsepower and 400 ft-lbs of torque straight off the showroom floor.
On the other hand, the four cylinder, with the addition of E75 fuel and a Garrett GTX28 pushing 15psi, dyno’d at 409 horsepower and 365 ft-lbs of torque. The car was built specifically to compete in the SLC Racing Series’ endurance racing, but who knows the full extent of this cars story.
No matter the case, why would the owner choose the C20LET over the LS2?! Please, enlighten us. In our eyes, LS’ are not something to be messed with– so many people swap them into their vehicles, but why would someone take one of these babies out?!
We can only imagine the looks on V8 lovers’ faces when this thing rolls up to a Corvette show. And its not a good look.
