Wrecked Vette Wednesday: First Year C6 Takes a Dive in Dallas

resizerIt seems only a few days ago that I was writing a piece for the last Wrecked Vette Wednesday segment. This Corvette caught my eye immediately, and we just couldn’t resist writing a piece on this unique vehicle. This 2005 Corvette marks the first year of production for the 6th generation of Corvette, distinguishable to the masses by its exposed (non-hide-a-way) headlights. This example is brought to us from Insurance Auto Auctions, specifically a Dallas location. If you’re interested, note that it is also a soft-top car… well that and the fact it’s pink.

resizer-2There was a driver’s airbag deployment, and clearly a hood detachment during the accident. Judging from the direction and location of the damage, we think the car struck the back of another vehicle a bit higher, such as a truck or SUV. The car probably still has a solid engine and drivetrain as the collision doesn’t look too severe. In fact, it looks to still be a repairable street car, but does anybody else think that this car may have… put itself into car heaven intentionally?

This C6 has 52,875 miles on it, which averages out to about 5,300 miles per year. While you may not necessarily love the options or the color, we were happy to see that the car did see some decent mileage before ending up in the yard. All to often we see new cars with under 5k miles on them with career ending injuries.

Perhaps this car lived a nice pampered life running in style alongside color matched Mark Kay Cadillacs, or as a Barbie Corvette dream car turned reality. Either way, the damage certainly looks to be repairable and we hope the driver walked away, without a scratch.
