Shrouded in secrecy as so many of the crashed Corvettes are on Insurance Auto Auctions (IAA), it’s the challenge that makes us like to dig as far as we can here at Corvette Online. Our curiosity got the better of us when we laid eyes on this 2007 coupe, and here’s what we know.
The car, which has a Mississippi registration, is currently off-site and resting in Memphis, Tennessee as it awaits its upcoming auction. It isn’t exactly a picture of perfection, but perhaps a restoration is in the works yet–should the right buyer come along.
Under the Notes section of the listing, it reads: “PREVIOUS ODO DISCREPANCY / TBO MS CLEAR.” An IAA rep explained that last part as meaning that the title isn’t on hand, even though it’s classified as a clear title in Mississippi. The kind of damage we’re looking at–missing door panel, broken rear passenger wheel, scuffs along the passenger rear body, busted rear windshield, et cetera–points to a pretty hefty repair bill, but evidently it isn’t enough to slap down “SALVAGE” on the pink slip.
The clock on this ride has ceased to work, but is believed to be at 5,555 miles; quite low for a car coming in at eight years old, going on nine. The engine bay looks good to go, with that LS2 just waiting to get running again and provide drivers with burnouts and quarter-mile times between 11 and 12 seconds.
Valued at $18,650 after being fixed up, this ride still has a life worth saving, at least in our eyes. What about you? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
