All the technology and safety measures in the world can’t seem to keep high-dollar cars like this 2015 Stingray away from a nasty fate. Our busted black coupe, seen here in a scrapyard in Dale, Texas, was just barely breaking past its first 1,000 miles on the highways and byways of the Lone Star state, and then it happened.
A severe crash caused the Vette to undergo several flips and twists, resulting in one of the most gnarly pieces of wreckage we’ve ever witnessed on Insurance Auto Auctions (IAA). Along the way, both of the front wheels managed to snap off completely from the spokes. The rear driver wheel suffered a similar end, its barrel broken and in pieces next to the balded tire and dislocated inner fender liner.
You want to talk glass? Good luck finding any that is still intact. There’s a chance the windows were rolled down when the crash happened, but both windscreens are all but present and accounted for.
Speaking of “glass,” the sheer amount of body damage is breathtaking. Loose fibers splay out everywhere, causing unsightly cracks along the doors, hood, and fenders. It’ll definitely account for the vast majority of the repair bill, that’s for sure.
Two things about the Vette are still relatively okay, those being the airbags and LT1 motor. We suppose on that merit alone the car will have some salvage value to attract bidders, but that’s about it.
What would you pay to fetch this struck-out Stingray? $10,000? $20,000? $30,000? Let us know in the comments below.
