Roadster Shop brought one of the most talked-about trucks to SEMA this year with its “Survivor Build” 1968 Chevrolet C10, a naturally weathered workhorse transformed into a 1,000-horsepower showcase of engineering and craftsmanship. The truck retains its original, patina-worn exterior, but beneath the vintage skin is a fully modernized platform designed to perform far beyond anything the factory could have imagined.

1,000 Horsepower Of Wegner-Built LS Power
At the heart of the build is a Wegner Motorsports 376ci LS3 topped with a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger, producing a clean and reliable 1,000 horsepower on E85. Controlling all those horses is HP Tuners very own CORE ECU with traction control, which is why this truck was featured in HP Tuner’s bother this year at SEMA. Roadster Shop incorporated vintage finned small-block valve covers adapted to the LS3 heads for an old-school aesthetic, while the valve covers, blower, and other engine trim wear a uniform Cerakote finish.
Chassis, Driveline, And The Hardware To Back It Up
Power is fed through a Bowler-prepped 8HP90 transmission equipped with a Bluetooth bump-shift module tied into the factory-style column shifter. The truck rides on Roadster Shop’s C10 Fast Track solid-axle 9-inch chassis, with Forgeline OE1 billet wheels that cleverly disguise themselves with factory center caps. Nitto NT555 tires measure 285 wide up front and 315 in the rear, giving the truck the footprint needed to tame four-digit output. A full 3-inch stainless exhaust system with long-tube headers handles the soundtrack.
A Handcrafted Interior With Subtle Modern Touches
Inside, the build blends subtle modernization with handcrafted details. Dakota Digital RTX gauges sit in a Roadster Shop–machined billet bezel machined by Roadster Shop complemented by custom A/C vents, 3D-printed kick panels, and a 3D-printed center console. Catos Custom Upholstery handled interior trimming and stitch work, while a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel sits atop a modified IDIDIT tilt column. The electronics package includes an American Autowire chassis harness and a Morel and JBL audio system.

A Patina’d Shell With a Fully Modern Heart
The woodwork in the dash, door panels, and truck bed floor has been done with custom Zebrawood bed floor crafted by the owner of the C10: Brent’s Custom Cabinets. True to Roadster Shop’s goal, the result is a perfectly balanced blend of preserved heritage and modern performance. It’s a genuine survivor shell wrapped around cutting-edge engineering that delivers show-level detail and four-digit horsepower without losing the soul of a working-class C10.
